Why the decision to add cryo?

When we opened our Riverdale location, we decided to add cryo as a service for the active clientele in the area. We knew this technology benefits patients and open doors to people not be familiar with it.

Why did you decide to partner with Impact Cryotherapy?

It was simply because we believe in it. We know it promotes healing, speeds up recovery time and reduces inflammation. We enjoy helping people feel better and lead healthier lives. We get to know our clients, then tailor their sessions and cryotherapy experience to their distinctive needs.

Dr. Stupka, Owner, Stupka Chiropractic and Wellness

Stupka Chiropractic is in the heart of McPherson, Kansas. My husband and I, both chiropractic physicians, started our family business four years ago. Our clientele ranges from newborn to 96. We offer many therapies along with an adjustment, such as acupuncture, spinal decompression, ultrasound and cold laser.

Tell me about your goals/vision for your business.

We aimed to offer something innovative and new to McPherson, as a facility that offers the newest therapies for our patients. We are the fifth cryosauna in Kansas and second Impact Cryotherapy location in the state. In the future, we aim to partner with surrounding colleges and athletic divisions to help athletes stay in the game, and add additional options to help everyday patients.

Why the decision to add cryotherapy?

We did research over the past year to determine the need for this cryosauna in our office, but the question was simply, “When?” Several peers encouraged us to try a cryotherapy session in an Impact cryosauna. After we stepped in one, we figured “now” answered that question.

Why did you decide to partner with Impact Cryotherapy?

Impact Cryotherapy was easy to work with and very responsive and educated about cryotherapy. Post-purchase, Impact is exceptionally responsive to questions about the cryosauna as well as patient education.

How has cryotherapy been received by members?

Our members love it! Five weeks into having the cryosauna running, we continually increase our weekly gas supply. We have clientele that have been through numerous treatments for chronic pain and now they claim to experience relief they have yet to receive elsewhere.

How do you promote the cryotherapy?

Facebook, Chamber of Commerce, word of mouth and ads in the local county mailers.

Why do your clients utilize cryotherapy?

Why did you decide to partner with Impact Cryotherapy?

A past employee, who performed Massage Therapy for First State for many years, moved to Georgia.  She was very skilled (even worked with the US Olympic Team) and settled in working for The Fitness Center at Sea Island Resort.  She sent me an email about this amazing treatment they offered. I believe they were one of the first to work with Impact Cryotherapy. She was so impressed with the results they were getting, she recommended we seriously consider getting a cryosauna for our patients. She also stated Sea Island had done their homework and Impact was simply the best cryosauna available. Within a week, I called Impact. First State Health and Wellness was the first center to offer cryotherapy in Delaware. The cryosauna has been busy ever since!

How has cryotherapy been received by customers?

It has been greeted with rave reviews! Most feel immediate relief and share positive testimonials. Our staff is well trained and able to answer questions for those who are a bit hesitant about this ‘new’ technology.

First State Health and Wellness patients explain it best:

  • “After 20 years seeking relief from intense, chronic pain of rheumatoid arthritis, I got used to not doing things because it hurt,” says Heather Klebon, patient. “Following my whole-body cryotherapy sessions, I experience increased energy, alertness, improved circulation and a huge reduction of pain, especially in the morning when inflammation is usually at its worst. I’ve been able to accomplish chores I was avoiding!”
  • “The whole body cryotherapy chamber was a quick, convenient way to add cold therapy to my pre- and post-race training for the 2015 Ironman Maryland event,” says Eric Wolf, patient, Certified Personal Trainer and avid tri-athlete. “The treatments helped my body reset itself, significantly reducing my soreness, so I could train harder.” Wolf adds, “If you’re serious about training, why wouldn’t you add another tool to your arsenal to help excel, especially when your competition likely doesn’t have access to it?”
How do you promote the cryotherapy?

We promote it a multiple of ways:

  • Our initial press release landed on the front page of Delaware’s primary newspaper and online news outlet.
  • We distribute a discount postcard to trainers, gyms, doctors and anyone who expresses interest to try cryotherapy.
  • We promote it heavily on social media, in our e-newsletter, in event swag bags, and via paid ads with articles and ads in local health/fitness publications, as well as Groupon.
  • At events, we raffle off free sessions and offer a free first session to influential business owners and community members.
  • We offer a free info session for people curious, but nervous to ask questions and observe a demo session.
  • Our cryosauna services were provided to players of the 87ers basketball team with testimonials and videos shared on social media.
  • There’s a page dedicated to this modality on our site, along with live sessions on Facebook.
  • Our logo is on the unit for our location to be promoted when people share photos.
Why do your clients utilize cryotherapy?

The Frost Club at The Hormone Center talks Cryotherapy Saunas

We are The Frost Club at The Hormone Center, an integrative medical practice based in Pittsburgh, Pa. We believe, that from an evolutionary standpoint, the human body is programmed to repair itself. Our job is to remove the obstacles and clear the path for the body to recover. The center has been in operation since 2009, with The Frost Club coming as its newest addition. Our Impact cryoasauna is in our South Side office, minutes from downtown, uptown and Oakland.

Tell me about your goals/vision for your business.

Whole body cryotherapy fits perfectly with the core values of The Hormone Center. We trend toward the least invasive procedures and treatments necessary to treat the causes of disease, not only the symptoms. Whole body cryotherapy is certainly non-invasive treatment. Many of our fibromyalgia patients claim it helps for pain relief. Our cryotherapy clientele includes athletes of all levels, individuals recovering from an injury or surgery, chronic pain and inflammation sufferers, as well as some proactive wellness clients.

Why the decision to add cryotherapy?

We see The Frost Club growing in conjunction with The Hormone Center. We believe in holistic treatment methods, nutrition and food choices are key, and outside agents we expose our bodies to impact on our health. Seeing the two grow with each other is easy to picture.

Why did you decide to partner with Impact Cryotherapy?

We partnered with Impact Cryotherapy for a few reasons:

  1. Impact designs and manufactures the most technologically advanced cryosaunas in the USA.
  2. They have all the proper safety measures in place.
  3. Plainly put, they are the ‘Cadillac’ of cryotherapy saunas.
How has cryotherapy been received by customers?

Cryotherapy has been very well received and it’s sparked much interest and conversation by patients who see the machine in action. It certainly generates a buzz whenever patients see the hardware in action.

How do you promote the cryotherapy?

To promote cryotherapy, we utilize our online presence, have done some “boots on the ground” campaigning, and forged relationships with local CrossFit gyms and businesses like them. Our next step will be to partner with online influencers in the area to build up The Frost Club brand.

Why do your clients utilize cryotherapy?

Our clients utilize cryotherapy for a variety of reasons. Some find us organically when looking for cryotherapy, while others come from our existing patient base, using it for various reasons. In all cases, however, our clients grow to really love the experience. They even say they feel addicted because they love that it’s only three minutes, how cold it gets and how much better they feel from doing it.

We have seen multiple success stories. One of the easiest to relate to is a lady who tore her ACL skiing. She did cryotherapy for two weeks prior to her surgery, then continued as soon as she could after surgery. She is now eight weeks out. Already, she has regained her full range of motion.

Dr. Steve Hatfield, Owner of ELITE Sports Med & Physical Therapy

Tell me about your goals/vision for your business.

Our goal at ELITE is to provide patients and clients with outstanding customer service and the most forward-thinking, progressive treatments, that utilize leading-edge technology and research.

Why the decision to add cryotherapy?

We are excited to add cryotherapy for several reasons. Primarily, it is a much needed evolution of ice baths or ice packs. Physical Therapists have used various thermal modalities for decades. However, the Impact Cryotherapy cryosauna allows us the ability to implement a modern, leading-edge technology. In addition, cryotherapy helps to keep us unique and relevant in a highly competitive market. Finally, in the ever-changing landscape of health insurance, and diminishing reimbursement, cryotherapy is an attractive cash-based service for our clinics.

Why did you decide to partner with Impact Cryotherapy?

Impact, the manufacturer, is somewhat local to us in the Southeast. Furthermore, the Impact business model is very supportive and helpful for a small business.

How has cryotherapy been received by customers?

While we are still early in our launch of cryotherapy, the response has been positive. We are excited about growing our cryotherapy client base.

How do you promote the cryotherapy?

Currently, we promote cryotherapy to our current patients, student athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

Why do your clients utilize cryotherapy?

Our clients have a variety of conditions to address and some are painful conditions. They utilize cryotherapy as an adjunct to their exercise, health and wellness regimens and acknowledge it benefits them.

Shanen Franklin, Owner of Evansville Cryotherapy Facility

Our cryotherapy facility is called Evansville Cryo, LLC and located in Evansville, IN. We have a wide variety of awesome clients ranging from 13-82 years old. We are the first and only cryotherapy facility in Evansville, so most of our clients have never experienced cryotherapy prior to stepping foot in our location.

Tell me about your goals/vision for your business.

Our goal is to have as many people as possible walk through our doors to try whole body cryotherapy. We know how it can have a positive impact and just want to share it with everyone. Our vision of our business is to keep getting our name in front of new people daily, and branch out in other cities by offering licensing agreements.

Why the decision to add cryotherapy?

For me the reason is simple: my wife Susan is much smarter than I am. (lol) She was an ICU nurse for 15 years and understood the concept of cryotherapy quicker than I did. After trying it one time, I was hooked and ready to jump all in. We recognized how many lives we can “impact” in a healthy way and that drove us to open our first cryotherapy location.

Why did you decide to partner with Impact Cryotherapy?

Partnering with Impact was honestly the easiest decision during the entire process of trying to get our doors open. We took a 2-hour drive to the nearest Impact location just to see if it was even for us! After three short minutes in an Impact Cryosauna, we realized this is the business to be in. Susan quickly started researching everything about cryotherapy and possible companies we could partner with. However, we thought we already knew the answer so we set up a call with the Impact sales team. Both of us talked with Chad Finnegan, Impact’s VP of Business Development, and that’s all it took. He made us feel comfortable about the way everything would play out to start our Impact business. Low and behold, everything unfolded as planned! To this day, any time we need anything, Impact is there for us and as a business partner, you couldn’t ask for anything more than that.

How has cryotherapy been received by customers?

Our customers/clients/friends have been much more receptive than we could have imagined this early on in our business. They are the reason we do this and are have success doing something we truly enjoy, which is helping people. We owe everything to every client who has walked through our door and can’t THANK them enough.

How do you promote the cryotherapy?

We promote cryotherapy pretty much every way possible. We have used TV, radio, magazines, race/marathons, sponsorships, Facebook, Instagram, etc. But the best advertising has been word-of-mouth with our referral program.

Why do your clients utilize cryotherapy?

We’ve had so many fulfilling testimonials for many health issues and that’s what makes this all worthwhile. We have athletes who look for an advantage. There are customers who suffer with arthritis, fibromyalgia and chronic pain who see great results. Some people come in with headaches or anxiety/depression tell us how much cryotherapy helps them.

Share the goals/vision for your program and how cryotherapy fits into it.

I am confident our personnel are well-trained professionals who share our common vision and goal to provide the best possible athletic healthcare for Mizzou student-athletes. The opportunity to add state-of-the-art technology, with the addition of two cryotherapy saunas, furthers the mission.

Why did you decide to partner with Impact Cryotherapy?

Impact Cryotherapy is widely regarded as an industry leader in cryotherapy technology. Their interest in, and support of, Mizzou Athletic Training helped to solidify my decision to partner with Impact.

How has cryotherapy been received by your athletes?

I have said many times since our Impact Cryotherapy chambers were installed a few months ago, the biggest proponents and advocates for their use are our student-athletes. The efficiency of the treatment, coupled with the invigorating experience, keeps Mizzou student-athletes coming back as often as possible, post-workout.

Why do your athletes utilize cryotherapy?

From a sheer numbers standpoint, our football players are the greatest “users”, although all teams are welcome. Also, since almost ALL team sports train year-round with very little “down time”, our Impact cryotherapy chamber has become a part of regular routines, regardless if it’s part of their off-season or in-season training regimen.

Our vision mirrors our mission, “Enriching Lives.” We execute on that with the vision, “Our Sea Island family is committed to creating meaningful value by providing gracious hospitality, extraordinary experiences, and a lifestyle worthy of sharing with generations.”

Why the decision to add cryotherapy?

With cryotherapy, we can provide added value to spa and fitness guests who seek alternative therapies, accelerated return to activity, or an overall increase in energy.

Why did you decide to partner with Impact Cryotherapy?

Sea Island is very fortunate to have the two founding directors of Impact here as members. They reached out to our President Scott Steilen and invited him, key membership and key people in spa and fitness to see and demo the Impact cryosauna. Personally, I enjoyed learning the science behind the machine but what really convinced me was the demo. It was so much fun to see hotel executives laughing and squealing when they received the 3-minute intro. They all said they felt much better afterward — and would do it again! After that, it was a simple ROI exercise to see if cryotherapy would benefit our guests and members, and our bottom line. It was a yes for all*.

How has cryotherapy been received by members?

Initially, our guests and members were skeptical, but as recognition increased, so has the usage. Many of those who participated in an Impact Cryotherapy session have turned into regular clients. And many one-time guests only staying with us for a short time, urge others in their family or friends to try because their experience is so impactful.

How do you promote the cryotherapy?

“Shelf talkers” on tables in the spa and fitness center, on the website and it’s listed on our spa and fitness menu. Also, various members of the local press personally tried a session in our Impact Cryosauna, then featured it in overviews of Sea Island or wrote about it.

Why do your clients utilize the therapy?

They feel better after a cryotherapy session.

2017’s Top Wellness Trends

The new year brings new wellness trends, but don’t worry, you’ll find that several 2016 favorites remain at the top in the world of wellness.

  • HIIT

Aka “high-intensity interval training,” which has been a popular workout in recent years, will take the stage once again 2017. This style if workout is appealing because it requires no equipment, it can be done almost anywhere AND it helps participants burn a lot of calories- very quickly. HIIT sessions consist of several bursts of very intense exercise followed by short periods of rest. These workouts are typically completed in 30-minutes or less.

  • Wearable Technology

Once again, Fitbits (Apple watches, Garmin bands, and all brand fitness & GPS trackers/ heart rate monitors) are in. In fact, wearable tech is so popular that it made the number 1 spot on the ACSM’s Top Fitness Trends for 2017.

  • Hygge

Pronounced “HOO-gah”, made its way on the well-being radar this past fall and is projected to remain relevant this year. This Danish, lifestyle buzzword describes the overwhelming feeling or mood that arrives when you enjoy life’s ordinary moments. In a fast-paced world that is filled with instant gratification, it’s important (and healthy!) to stop and find pleasure in the little things.

  • Cryotherapy

This new-age therapy puts a cool spin on the traditional ice bath. Participants step into an octagon-shaped Cryosauna that fills with nitrogen vapor and drops the ambient temperature inside to a range of -90 degrees Celsius to -120 degrees Celsius. This 3-minute experience is great for almost anyone, including elite athletes, busy-bodies and weekend warriors!
