Eric Anderson Owner of Unlimited Tan talks Cryotherapy Centers

We currently offer cryotherapy inside of our Unlimited Tan location, in Chicago, in addition to indoor tanning and sunless spray tanning services.

Tell me about your goals/vision for your business.

We recently spun off our cryotherapy into its own brand/company, Cryoluxe. In early 2018, we will offer opportunities to franchise stand-alone Cryoluxe cryotherapy centers and Cryoluxe kiosks inside existing businesses. The plan is to grow methodically, like a bubble around Illinois, to best support franchisees, then expand further through key development markets.

Why the decision to add cryotherapy to your existing tanning business?

From a business perspective, I searched for an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a cutting-edge industry. Cryotherapy presented the perfect option because of its rapid rise in popularity. Adding cryotherapy allows us to maintain the set-up of our existing tanning locations and still provide both current guests and new clients with additional options for the expansive benefits provided by cryotherapy.

Did you consider adding different wellness modalities over cryotherapy?

We considered many concepts, but other wellness services are localized. We prefer whole body cryotherapy because it treats multiple areas at one time.

Why did you decide to partner with Impact Cryotherapy?

We looked at many units, but Impact offers the most well-built, American-made units.

How has cryotherapy been received by customers?

We added a lot of different tanning and spray booth technology over the years, but none has had near the same positive response as cryotherapy. While people may be hesitant at first, they all love the way they feel after a session.

How do you promote the cryotherapy?

The main driver of promoting cryotherapy is through digital, direct mail, social media, PR and marketing. Digital involves a website (both consumer and for franchise development), Pay Per Click (PPC) and social advertising campaigns for client acquisition; direct mail targets a specific radius around our stores, using offers to drive client acquisition; social media reinforces messages shared through digital and marketing; PR is for earned media in the market; marketing is for events – from grand openings, client drivers, education to community introductions.

Why do your clients utilize cryotherapy?

Three main reasons: recovery from training, relief from chronic aches and pains and simply to feel better overall.
