Is Cryotherapy Safe?

Yes, cryotherapy is a safe whole body wellness experience.

Impact Cryotherapy machines are equipped with safety checkpoints, interactive operator software, and preset time and temperature protocols to ensure that all cryotherapy sessions administered are safe and consistent. Impact’s entire line of cryosaunas has earned the ETL Mark from testing laboratory, Intertek, classifying them as compliant to applicable US and Canadian electrical safety standards.

All Impact Cryotherapy machine operators receive comprehensive safety training and undergo a cryosauna operation certification.

During a cryotherapy session, participants feel a dry cold — shivering is common but at no point should a user feel uncomfortable. Many clients report feeling a sense of calm or rejuvenation after their session. Others report feelings of euphoria and/or energy.

There are no known side effects of whole body cryotherapy, however, anyone with the following conditions should not participate in a session:

  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • Pregnancy
  • Raynaud’s Syndrome
  • Allergy to cold
  • Prior heart attack
  • Unstable heart pain
  • Disease of the blood vessels
  • History of blood clots
  • Uncontrolled seizure disorder
  • Nerve pain in feet and legs
  • Open sores
  • Any disease or condition with increased sensitivity to cold
